TECNIS PureSee™ Advanced Lens · Cataract Surgery · Metro Detroit
See the whole range of life.
The TECNIS PureSee™ lens gives you one continuous range of clear vision — from the road ahead, to your dashboard, to the dinner table — with the rich color and contrast you remember.
- A wide, uninterrupted range of vision — no abrupt jumps between distances
- Bright color and crisp contrast — the only EDOF lens with no contrast-loss warning
- Sharper mid-range — dashboard, computer, and meal prep in focus
- Minimal glare and halos at night, by design
Why patients choose TECNIS PureSee™
One lens. A continuous range of vision.
PureSee™ is an extended-depth-of-focus (EDOF) lens. A standard cataract lens focuses at a single distance. PureSee™ extends that focus into a continuous range — so the road ahead, your dashboard, and the computer screen stay sharp, with the rich color and contrast you remember. For the finest print, light reading glasses may still help.
- A wide, uninterrupted range — distance through intermediate, with functional near
- Rich color and contrast — the first EDOF lens with no contrast-sensitivity-loss warning
- Excellent mid-range — dashboard, computer screen, and the kitchen counter
- A purely refractive design — minimal glare and halos around lights at night
- Light readers expected only for the smallest print — menus, labels, fine text
- One procedure that treats your cataract and reduces your dependence on glasses
The Clear Vision Way
Medicare covers cataract surgery. It doesn’t cover the vision most people actually want.
A standard covered lens removes your cataract and restores clear vision at one distance — you’ll typically still reach for glasses for the dashboard, the computer, and the menu. We’re not just a cataract office. We’re a vision-correction practice, and that changes what’s possible for your eyes.
Technology most offices don’t have
Advanced lens options like TECNIS PureSee™, paired with precise diagnostic measurement, let us match the right lens to your eyes — not a one-size-fits-all default.
A team trained for vision correction
Our specialized staff does this every day — guiding you through lens choices, measurements, and what life looks like afterward, so you make a confident, informed decision.
A surgeon known for advanced lenses
Dr. Vrabec has spent 25+ years placing advanced lenses with a single principle: the right procedure and the right lens for the right patient — or none at all. Every surgery is his.
Office-based surgery, not a hospital
Your procedure takes place in our private, accredited on-site surgery suite — calmer, more personal, and built entirely around eye care. No hospital, no assembly line.
Backed by the clinical data
What the TECNIS PureSee™ studies show
of patients occasionally or never wore glasses1
of patients would recommend the lens to a friend or family member2
of patients reported no very bothersome visual disturbances1
- A monofocal-like night-vision profile. A purely refractive design means minimal glare and halos around lights — closer to a standard lens than to a traditional multifocal.
- Excellent contrast. The first and only EDOF lens in the U.S. without a warning on loss of contrast sensitivity.
- A full visual range. Excellent distance and intermediate vision with some near — light readers expected only for the smallest print.
- Forgiving by design. A high tolerance to small refractive differences helps deliver dependable, comfortable vision day to day.
Clinical data from Johnson & Johnson studies of the TECNIS PureSee™ IOL. 1Overall spectacle wear and visual-disturbance outcomes at 6 months; TECNIS PureSee™ IOL Directions for Use. 2Prospective, randomized, multi-center 6-month clinical study, N=66. Individual results vary; spectacle independence is not guaranteed and light reading glasses may still be needed for the smallest print. The part insurance won’t cover
What a lifetime of glasses really costs
With a standard covered lens, glasses for intermediate and reading are an ongoing expense for the rest of your life. PureSee™ is a one-time investment in a fuller range of vision.
Estimates only, for illustration. Advanced-lens pricing is determined at your consultation; ask about flexible financing and HSA/FSA eligibility.
That’s money spent renting clear vision year after year. PureSee™ is a one-time step toward seeing across the full range — and reaching for glasses far less.

Good to know
TECNIS PureSee™ questions, answered
What is the TECNIS PureSee™ lens?
PureSee™ is an FDA-approved extended-depth-of-focus (EDOF) lens implanted during cataract surgery in place of your eye’s clouded natural lens. Its purely refractive design provides a continuous range of vision — distance and intermediate, with functional near — while maintaining the rich color and contrast you remember. [VERIFY against J&J TECNIS PureSee™ labeling]
Will I still need glasses?
Most patients become far less dependent on glasses across distance and mid-range tasks like driving, the dashboard, and the computer. For the very smallest print — fine labels or a detailed menu in dim light — you may still want light reading glasses. Your consult will set realistic expectations for your eyes.
How is PureSee™ different from a standard cataract lens — or a multifocal?
A standard monofocal lens focuses at just one distance, so you’ll typically wear glasses for everything else. PureSee™ extends your range so more of daily life stays in focus. Unlike many diffractive multifocal lenses, PureSee™ uses a non-diffractive design — it’s the first EDOF lens with no contrast-sensitivity-loss warning, and it’s engineered to minimize glare and halos around lights at night.
Does Medicare or insurance cover this?
Medicare and most insurance cover standard cataract surgery with a basic monofocal lens. They do not cover the part most patients actually want — the advanced lens and the broader range of vision it provides. The PureSee™ package is an out-of-pocket upgrade above your covered surgery. Many patients use HSA/FSA funds and flexible monthly financing. [FILL: financing term/APR]
How much does the PureSee™ package cost?
Our Distance + Near Range Package with PureSee™ starts at $5,200 per eye for the advanced lens and refractive package, above standard covered cataract surgery. Your exact quote is provided at your consultation, where we confirm the right lens for your eyes and review financing and HSA/FSA options. [FILL: financing details]
What is the procedure and recovery like?
Cataract surgery is performed in our private, accredited on-site suite, one eye at a time, with numbing drops — most procedures take only minutes. Many patients notice clearer vision within days. Your care team will review exactly what to expect at your consult.
